350th Post
At first I only read newspapers and internet portal and heard from Siew Meyy about Raymond Lam’s successful 2-night concert at the famous Hong Kong Coliseum on 17-18 June. Everyone was praising his daring attempt to conquer the musical arena there with not one but two nights of concerts as he only has 3 albums to his belt. But, Raymond defied the orders and succeeded with two sold-out shows. When his recording company EEG released the live DVD/CD of his concert, it sold out hardly two weeks in the stores which is an achievement for someone who is just entering his third year as a recording artiste despite has been singing since 2002. Siew Meyy, who went to scream and shout in Raymond’s concert, bought the DVD of it and now treating the disc like her own life. I cannot lay my hands on the DVD because she will never ever let people to touch or borrow the DVD of her beloved laogung. I found the DVD concert’s download links. I downloaded it and watched it. The concert was lively, entertaining, exciting and fun-filled. The concert’s climax must be the water section in line with Let’s Get Wet theme. Raymond was soaked in wet and really created the much-anticipated atmosphere. Raymond sang almost all of the 27 songs in his 3 albums plus few other songs of his before joining the EEG label and other artistes’ songs as well. Check out Wong Cho Lam’s appearance to tease Raymond on his rumoured girlfriend, Linda Chung. Not to forget was Raymond’s hot dance moves with our Laughing Gor, Michael Tse! The whole Coliseum was filled to the brim just for the man who has stepped into the music world for the third year only. I do wonder with Raymond’s popularity and huge fan base support across the world (yeah! he is not only famous in Hong Kong but also around the globe), why he does not think of breaking into the movie world? He has the package and support from his company. I bet if he indeed does that, he will be equally successful as well!
Forget for a while about the full review for TVB 2009 EU. Supposedly I wanted to post it up here in my previous entry. But due to unexpected circumstances, I decided to postpone it until further notice! On the other hand, I am still watching TVB 2008 Moonlight Resonance. Indeed, I am following the drama in a very slow pace due to assignments, presentations and preparation for events in UPSI. Nevertheless, I am here to announce that I will be doing a mega review on this all-time highest rating Hong Kong drama once I am done with it. When its indirect prequel (Heart of Greed) was on air, I watched it and did an in-depth review. But for this Moonlight Resonance, it will be not one but two reviews due to its vast contents. I really enjoy penning two reviews for one drama. Filled with information and photos because I like the drama so much because of Raymond Lam and Fala Chen. The triangle love story of Raymond - Linda Chung - Bosco Wong was really draggy and it really made the drama short of one more star to make it as a great drama.
Enough of TVB-related stories and Raymond Lam!
End of Week 6 but our lecturers did not recognised it. Instead, they mentioned it as Week 5 because the one and a half week closure due to H1N1 was not included into the university’s calendar. Gua peduli apa? Janji dah cuti dan tengah menunggu cuti Hari Raya pulak! hehe..Dari segi pelajaran, gua takkan kata gua teramat terer sebab sesetengah bidang tu agak sukar untuk dikuasai. With that I am inching closer towards the halfway for the first semester. I think I am lagging behind in terms of academic because I am quite lazy to study whenever classes ended and I am in my rented house. For assignments, I am thanking my lucky stars for having Cindy, Marylene and Punitha as group members because I can always count on them to deliver the goods although I am the leader. Cindy the Kanak-Kanak Riang is always acting as the secretrary and I always pull the pranks on her. Academic and assignments aside for I have another big worry which is the event organizing in UPSI. Not one but THREE events. As the chairman for the organizing committee, I have a heavy responsibility to make all the events a successful one. The pressure was really big because “the life and death” for my 16 other committee members in the final exams depends on it with the marks allocated are 50%! Again, I am fortunate to have reliable committee team starting from my vice chairman until the AJKs. I am working hard to ensure this tri-events turn out to be a triumphant effort. Speeches, invitation letters, animations, equipments, process flow and many more have to be carefully planned and to be trially-run before the official events.
Sometimes I hate to be in the spotlight although I love and enjoying it! Hate it because lecturers will turn their attentions to me, all thanks to my 96 other classmates. Love and enjoying it because it made me famous! haha..I was already famous during the orientation week for leading the geng (I really miss the geng coz we are all separated into 5 different classes!) “overthrowing” the snobbish organising team for orientation. Being one of only two Chinese guys in the class (the other Chinese guy is keeping low profile and I dun like him either because he is lansi to me), I cannot escape from the attention of my classmates and lecturers as I am sitting in front and also steal the limelight with explanations on a lot of general issues and history. By fluent in Bahasa Malaysia, my classmates will find and always found the opportunities to yell my name from behind the class for whatever and no reasons to make me answer and to make the class bursts into laughter because they found it hillarious that the guys at the back love to call my name. As Cindy is the prettiest girl not only in my class and also the whole course, one of the guys said memang syok siapa-siapa jadi pelajar Cindy. Gerenti kehadiran penuh di kelas bila graduate jadi cikgu nanti! haha..He cheekily said now he is attending the class because of Cindy, much to our laughters. Then he teased me for being the only guy in the group for assignments with Cindy. Whenever Cindy talks to me, I will surely cannot escape from the teasing from him and the guys because they said I always got Cindy’s attention..haha..That’s why all the classmates love to label me and Cindy as a pair but both of us laughed it off because we only care in taking the mickey out of each other! hehe
This week I was really happy! I met back one of my best friends since the days in Cator Avenue! He is Chooi Wen Hui! Mann, the last time I saw him was 5 years ago which was in Form 6. Together with him, Benedict and Siew Foong, we were the champions in ruler game and also qi ku ba! No one in the class and the whole school can dethrone our titles! hehe..Together with him, Benedict and Poi Yuk, we were the most-feared group of prefects in Anderson. I really missed those days! Can I turn back the time and live once again in those days? I really want it! Not talking about looking back to the past but it is the past that gives us the future! Well, Wen Hui came to Tanjung Malim for the preparation of his convocation at UPSI. So, he asked me out for a drink because we want to meet each other back after so long time. We chatted a lot of things. Reminisced those good old days in Cator Avenue and Anderson were our main topic besides talking about other schoolmates. Other than that, we chatted about the current state of affairs in Malaysia. I am always happy to have people to talk about those issues even if it involved sensitive issues as long as we can sorted it out nicely without any hard feelings after that. We shared our opinions on PPSMI which yielded constructive views among the two of us. He expressed his surprise that I took 4 years after STPM to be a teacher because he and other schoolmates knew I come from the background of teaching profession. My father was a former teacher and so is my eldest sister currently. He expected me to be in UPSI after STPM but shocked not seeing me there in 2005 but in 2009. So I told him everything about the questions that he posed to me. No words can expressed how happy I am of meeting him back because we have those good and bad times together last time but we are very close with Benedict and Siew Foong. Now I hope the geng can be united once again and not still seeing in two or three. Let’s make it a complete group. That Wen Hui said my housemate is very pretty because he bumped into her in Bidor and came together to Tanjung Malim. But I told him that he belum jumpa tiga lagi housemates gua yang juga cantik..haha..This Wen Hui always harped on the same issue just like Benedict. He asked whether Khai Wan and I are dating currently. Everyone seems to think I am dating Khai Wan now which I vehemently denied it by saying even if I like Khai Wan but that does not mean she will like me too. We are merely friends! I always said Khai Wan is a beautiful and alluring woman!
