RM49.90! That is how much I owed Wee Chia Wen over a birthday gift. I dun even know what she bought for that price. Okay! Happy Birthday to Sannie. Her birthday is on today. They will be celebrating it in KL with their friends. Siew Meyy is having the greatest moment of her life in Africa. Therefore, she will miss the birthday party. Gua memang tak bercadang meraikan bersama mereka kerana malas nak pergi KL. I have a week long Hari Raya Haji holiday. As usual, I am in Ipoh now. With that, Sannie’s birthday puts an end to the birthday galore for all my friends for the month of November. Memang banyak orang dilahirkan pada bulan November and I am one of them.
November is approaching its end. The month of December is just two days away. In the final two weeks of December, I will do a round-up of my life for this year in a two-part story. Basically it is a summary for my blog content here in the past eleven months and also the upcoming December.
Raymond Lam will be holding a large scale concert on 19th Dec in Genting Highlands. Before Siew Meyy left Malaysia for her Africa mission trip, she gave out tickets to Chia Wen and Sannie. That two girls are happy to have a jolly good night of Lam Fung-holics. Ini yang buat gua dengki.
TVB 42nd Anniversary Award is now less than a week away. 4th December is the date anticipated by TVB artistes and fans as the titles for TV King and Queen are up for grabs. I can’t wait for next Friday too!
This will be a short and simple post. Three paragraphs to do the trick (excluding this one).
With TVB 42nd Anniversary Awards are now less than two weeks away, the race for the title TV King and Queen actually did not really heated up. All TVB fans and critics are putting their money on Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang to bring home the prestigious Best Actor and Actress Awards respectively for their brilliant performances in Rosy Business. For The Best Actor Award, the race was over even before the nomination list came out because Wayne Lai turned on an exhilarating display as Chai Gau in the drama much to the likings and applause by viewers. Regardless on how his challengers perform in their respective dramas, the money is always on Wayne Lai to finally nail the long-awaited award as a recognition for his great actings. Whereas for Sheren Tang, she is the leading contender for The Best Actress Award. Although she is not as overwhelming favourite as her counterpart Wayne, many believe it is her turn to be crowned as the TV Queen after she was denied the same award in 2004 for her role in War and Beauty despite giving the needed performance as Concubine Yu (That year, it was Gigi Lai won the award). Her only worthy competitors are the two leading female casts for Beyond The Realm of Conscience; Charmaine Sheh and Tavia Yeung. Rumours had it that TVB are promoting Tavia by giving her the evil role to get the award but Tavia has mentioned she is still too young and supported Sheren to win the award. Nevertheless, both Charmaine and Tavia are the darkhorses with Sheren as the favourite. If predictions and anticipations are true where Sheren to win The Best Actress Award then it is highly possible for Tavia to bring home The Most Favourite Female Character Award with Charmaine providing the much-needed challenge.
I have started my Blogspot. Although there is no post yet over there, I have finished with the design. The first post shall see its light on January 2010. Friendster Blog will still be active but it is my new Blogspot that will provide all the news on everything. In-depth and detailed blog will be put up at Blogspot where this Friendster Blog will only provide smaller scale of information on every posts that I am going to do. In other words, what people can read in Friendster Blog is not as complete as the one in Blogspot. So far, I only gave my Blogspot link to four people. If you want that link, tell me and I will send it to you. The reasons I shifted my attention Blogspot : I am running out of bandwidth in Friendster Blog and it is time for me to blog in a much serious but sometimes funny tones because I want to pen down my thoughts on various issues surrounding me. Those issues could be politics, sports, current issues, history and drama reviews (TVB and others).
TVB 42nd Anniversary Award will be held on 4th December. To create the anticipation and excitement, I asked my brother to give me all the previous years of TVB Anniversary Awards and also TVB Anniversary Galas since early 2000. I watched those awards and galas before but it is good to bring back the nostalgic feelings of yesteryears. Seeing Gallen Lo (2002), Louis Koo (2001), Roger Kwok (2003 and 2005), Bowie Lam (2004), Kevin Cheng (2006), Moses Chan (2007) and Ha Yu (2008) triumphed in The Best Actor Awards while Lisa Wang (2001and 2005), Flora Chan (2002), Maggie Cheung (2003), Gigi Lai (2004), Charmaine Sheh (2006), Louise Lee (2007) and Michelle Yim (2008) won The Best Actress Awards plus other major subsidiary awards for other winners which included Best Supporting Actor and Actresses Awards, Most Favourite Male and Female Character Awards and Most Improved Actor and Actress Awards, just to name a few. On 19th November, TVB held its Anniversary Gala and I have watched it already. Great songs, performances and skits in the gala by all TVB actors and actresses. I have voted for all the awards at TVB official website. It was fun and thrilling to vote for your favourite TVB artistes for the awards ceremony. Voting ends on 29th November. For the first time since 2001, Raymond Lam will not be having even one drama to contest in any awards this year. Nevertheless, he is still one of the most, if not the most, bankable TVB actor by organising successful concerts in June this year. In 2010, he is slated to appear in two dramas.
Memang kena hypnotized by this English song in TVB 2008 Born Rich. Liriknya begitu mengasyikkan dan melodinya pula senang membuat para pendengar berasa teruja.
I am now in Tanjung Malim. By 9pm later, I will be in Ipoh until Tuesday morning. Macam tu lar hidup gua jika diberi cuti yang panjang. Any opportunities to go back hometown must be snatched immediately. Memandangkan sekarang masih dapat balik ke kampung, balik saja lar. Lain kali kena dihantar pergi ke Kepulauan Borneo untuk berkhidmat, jangan katakan nak sebut perkataan balik, bahkan fikirkan perkataan itu pun jangan sesekali..hehe..Malas pergi KL because there is nothing for me to do if I go. It is always good to go back Ipoh.
I am sick again! Two weeks ago, gua mengalami batuk, selsema dan juga sakit tekak. Last Sunday, I went to see doctor. He was surprised that I went to his clinic for the same reasons. My cough is getting really bad despite taking the medicines. Boleh batuk dengan begitu teruk sehingga nak muntah dan juga kepala berasa sakit yang teramat sangat. My flu is like yo-yo. Adakala selsema itu begitu teruk sehingga hidung tersumbat. Tapi ada kala selsema itu tak lar begitu teruk. This easily placed me in the high risk group of people with potential H1N1 symptoms..hehe..Hopefully I can get well soon because memang menyeksakan dan juga membimbangkan to have this kind of illnesses as the world is battling the H1N1. I can’t afford to fall sick now because I have a lot of assignments and presentations for this semester.
This semester I only have 4 subjects. But the volume of assignments, projects and presentations are a lot in terms of quantity. For projects, I was the first to refuse the presidential position because of large amount of workloads are waiting for the leader to tackle. I had my fair share of it in the previous semester. I told my coursemates that I don’t want to be president for whatever projects in this semester because I have already proved myself and there is no need to do it again. Let other people to lead the team. Nevertheless, I still cannot run away from important position. I was appointed to be the chief of logistics and also acting vice president. My group is involved in a community project for National Integrity subject. We are going to Seremban, Negeri Sembilan for the Projek Anak Angkat. It is a 2 days, 1 night trip there. We will be in a village there for this project on 12th and 13th December. Hopefully, I can do a great job in this project because it carries 50% of our Finals marks. The best thing is that my favourite coursemate; Mazni Ezura is my group member again! Perempuan ini memang happening.
Okay itu pasal projek!
Although I have a lot of assignments and presentations, I welcome it with open arms. All the subjects are my forte and interest. Among the topics regardless of the subjects are Vision 2020, Money Politics, Economic Growth in Malaysia, just to name a few. Moga-moga gua dapat mencatatkan markah yang tinggi supaya tak perlu memerah kudrat ketika peperiksaan kelak. With this batch of subjects, this semester is only for me to lose it. If I cannot get good results then I can only blame myself because there is no way for me to throw away such a golden opportunity to do what many people expected me to do; to score in all the subjects of my forte and interest. So far I am on the right track by starting it early despite the heavy commitment for the Seremban project is draining much of my time. Nevertheless, that is not an excuse for me to fail because it is part and parcels of life.
This Sunday at 10.03am, RTM2 will be airing Task 26 of GoGo Sentai Boukenger! The title for this episode is The Glass Slipper! It is about Sakura becoming Cinderella thus discarding her usual trademark of donning the SGS uniform! She is very elegant in the gown as Cinderella. Out of 49 tasks plus 3 movies of Boukenger, it is less than 5 times where Sakura putting on different outfits than the usual SGS jackets. Also in Task 26, it is also revealed that Sakura is the heiress to her family business but ran away to join the Self-Defence Force (thus explaining her capabilities of handling machines and weaponries in battlefield) before Akashi coaxed her to join Boukenger.
I am adopting a new image. My UPSI coursemates are surprised but liked it. It was influenced by Gallen Lo’s image at the beginning of TVB 2009 Born Rich. Dia menyimpan janggut. I tried his style of keeping beard but Gallen did not have moustache at all whereas I am keeping moustache. Together with the dark complexion of my skin (kulit gua memang bertambah gelap semenjak berada di UPSI kerana banyak melibatkan diri dalam akitiviti luaran), I looked so different and my UPSI coursemates said I have the potential to be a Malay guy..hehe
I still have no news on Siew Meyy. This girl is in Africa for over a week already. I know she is safe and sound there. Gua cuma berharap dia tu tahu menjaga diri dengan sebaik mungkin and becareful with her surroundings there. Sannie’s birthday is on 28th November. I am not celebrating her birthday as I will be in Ipoh for the 1-week break due to Hari Raya Haji. This girl pun takkan balik to Ipoh and prefers to be in KL because she has heavy workloads from her workplace; PwC. But I know Chia Wen definitely celebrates with Sannie. Both of them will be in KL on the last week of November as the year is approaching its tail-end. It is understandable that they will have a lot of reports to complete and submit be it in PwC or Bank Negara (for Chia Wen). They still have Amirah to toy with who is currently working at the Treasury in Putrajaya.
PBSM stands NOT for Persatuan Bulan Sabit Merah but Pasti Balik Setiap Minggu. My housemates teased me as the chairman of PBSM because gua pasti balik kampung menjelang hujung minggu. They know I will surely go back, be it by driving or boarding the KTM train, right after the last class of the week and will only reach Tanjung Malim an hour or two before the first class of the following week. Inilah kehebatan gua yang tiada lagi tandingan..haha
I am now in Ipoh and will be here until Tuesday morning. Kebanyakan pensyarah memanipulasi jadual waktu untuk keselesaan mereka. Ada juga di kalangan kita yang meminta untuk meletakkan semua kelas kuliah dalam tempoh tiga hari sahaja dalam seminggu. Now, my lecture classes are only from Tuesday afternoon until Thursday evening.
She is very bubbly and lively. Selain itu, dia bercakap secara terus apa yang terlintas pada fikiran dia tu. I always like to have her as group member in assignments or projects because of her personality and also creativity. Among all the Malay girls in my class, Mazni is the most craziest and liveliest. Memang moden perempuan ini. She was my secretary during the last semester’s tri-events. She and I always have good chats in the class on many topics and also on MSN where we can sembang about assignments, exam tips and leisure activities. She saw me before in GSC Mid Valley helping my staffs at the Concession counter when she and her boyfriend came to watch movie. Kononnya I was very polite when I served her in the counter. Betul ke gua pernah bertemu dengan dia? I dunno coz when I was working at GSC Mid Valley for 8 months, gua menolong di seluruh pelusuk pawagam. Some of my UPSI coursemates also said they saw me before when I told them I was the former Assistant Cinema Manager there. Maybe they knew, remembered and talked to me before but I don’t coz I encountered and dealt with many customers throughout that 8 months.
Blog gua ini makin lama, makin lesu. Makin lama, makin membosankan. Ini adalah satu fakta yang gua tidak akan nafikan. It is getting more and more predictable and no longer has the “stint” that once made it so influential, controversial and center of hot discussions/arguments. I am too busy with studies and my life thus lack of time to furnish this blog making it less appealing.
Siew Meyy is not in Malaysia now. Only Gods know where in the world that Miss Chin Siew Meyy is. She is on a humanitarian mission work in Africa until the week before Christmas. Ini perempuan memang sukakan cabaran dan gemar menimba pengalaman yang bermakna dalam hidupnya. Hidupnya ibarat seorang pengembara yang luar biasa. With this latest foray to another continent for a noble cause, Siew Meyy adds another feather to her cap. Extraordinary feat indeed with impressive academic and society background. She is set to start her career as a doctor in January 2010 in Hospital Permaisuri Bainun.
Tiadanya Siew Meyy di sisi gua bermakna Wee Chia Wen is my “toy” to toy with from now until Siew Meyy’s return..haha..To tell the truth, for the past two years, I met more, went out more, fooled around more and many many more with Chia Wen than Siew Meyy. One thing about Chia Wen is that she is playful, hyperactive and crazy. I never considered her as a beautiful girl because I really think she is cute and sweet for her age. She, Siew Meyy and Sannie are best friends for so many years. That’s why they shared almost same traits and personality.
If I am still working at GSC, 3rd November marks my 1st anniversary there as the Cinema Assistant Manager. But it was not meant to be as I opted to further my studies. Nevertheless, I was happy to be a part of the cinema industry. I learnt a lot of things and met with a lot of distinguished people. 3rd November is also my birthday. Let’s do something new for the post about my birthday. I am not going to talk about my birthday celebration that blardy long–winded just like the previous two years.
Semester 2 started on Monday and I only have 4 subjects (15 credit hours) compared to 7 (17 credit hours) in the previous semester. Practicum which is due to start on March 2010 offers 8 credit hours and total altogether is 40 credit hours. I like this semester because the timetable is really “kind” to me. I dun have classes on Friday and that means I can go back Ipoh on Thursday afternoon once the last class of the week ends. I even like this semester when all the subjects offered are about the course I am enrolled in which is Pengajian Am. The subjects are on Contemporary Issues, Public Policies and Politics, and National Integrity. All these subjects are of my interests and expertise. The only thing I dun like the timetable is that I have 8am classes on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday! Gua ni memang pantang dan malas bangun pada awal pagi. It is time to set a very high academic target for this semester compared to the previous one because I can deliver the goods and the subjects should pose no problems to me. I do have a feeling that I can get at least 3A this semester. But talk is cheap. Action and results are what matter most. Maka dengan itu, Let’s Power Up! This is one bouken that must not be taken lightly because the Precious are waiting for me to collect it. Start Up!
Two days of birthday celebration with Siew Meyy, Chia Wen, Sannie and my housemates. Inilah kali pertama gua meraikan harijadi di Tanjung Malim setelah meraikannya 4 tahun sebelumnya secara beturut-turut di Lembah Klang.
First celebration was on 2nd November in Rawang. Siew Meyy, Amirah, Razlan, Chia Wen, Desmond and Sannie celebrated my birthday there. Siew Meyy came from Ipoh to Tanjung Malim and both of us with Razlan drove to Rawang. The rest of them came from KL and PJ. Kami bertujuh tidak lar buat banyak benda. They shared together to buy a big cake for me. Dah lama tak jumpa Amirah and lagi lama tak jumpa Desmond. Whereas from time to time I bumped to Razlan in Tanjung Malim coz he is a tutor at UPSI. Nasib baik dia tak menjadi pensyarah gua. Pasti dia muntah darah kerana I am really rebellious in class and famous for creating troubles for lecturers. Basically, this outing is more on gathering than a birthday celebration because some of us did not meet each other for a very long time already. From 6pm until 10.30pm, we were in a dining outlet in Rawang for makan and sembang. Lepas tu, kami balik ke destinasi masing-masing. Siew Meyy, Razlan and I reached Tanjung Malim at about 11.30pm. Razlan went back to his own house in Proton City while Siew Meyy and I balik ke rumah gua.
Second celebration was on my actual birthday = 3rd November. This time only Siew Meyy, Razlan and Chia Wen plus a few of my coursemates and housemates in three separate celebrations from evening until night. Here, I will only focus on the celebration with my best friends but I want to say thank you to my housemates and coursemates too for the other two celebrations. Chia Wen purposely came to Tanjung Malim after work at Bank Negara in Kuala Lumpur. The theme for this celebration was “Wet” coz it was held besides the Proton Lake. As usual, makan itu adalah sesuatu yang mandatori. But we did it the picnic style coz the location is right beside the lake in Proton City. I am still suffering from cough and sore throat but that two girls memang ganas dan kejam sebab mencampak gua ke dalam tasik manakala Razlan tak tolong langsung sebab dia syok tengok gua kena “dicabul” oleh dua perempuan tersebut. Some of my coursemates saw the four of us having fun at the lakeside. Just like any other friends of mine that saw Siew Meyy, my coursemates concluded that she is really beautiful while Chia Wen is cute..haha..Nak pecah perut bila dengar orang kata Chia Wen tu comel!
Thanks to all for their birthday wishes in Facebook, SMS and phone calls. I appreciated it. For me, birthday celebrations and birthday presents are not important as I dun crave for both either. A simple birthday wish is more than enough for me. To those who wished me on Facebook, I have replied all of your wishes but there was one I did not reply and some I deleted their wishes coz I had some problems with them yet they pretended to be hypocrite. For those wished me via SMS, thank you especially Celina coz she was the only one from UTAR PR5 to do that. Thank you to Debbie too for calling me for the same purpose but she was more creative by singing birthday song to me just like how she did on the year before. Dia tu sememangnya kawan gua paling baik di UTAR and this is followed by Jennifer Chang and Celina Chin! For the rest of them especially my former schoolmates in Anderson, terima kasih banyak-banyak atas ucapan melalui Facebook dan SMS kerana semua ucapan tu penuh dengan makna melalui perkataan-perkataan yang disampaikan itu.
For my practicum that begins on March 2010, I have three choices : My alma mater (Anderson), Seri Putera and Hulu Kinta. Memang dah pasti gua akan memilih Anderson kerana gua mempunyai semangat yang setia dan bangga dengan sekolah tersebut. I spent 7 wonderful years there as a teenager. Hopefully my application to teach in Anderson will be accepted because I am more used to the school culture there. Choosing Anderson as my first choice is not without teasing. Chia Wen tahu gua mempunyai niat tersembunyi untuk memilih Anderson. She said I picked Anderson because of Siew Meyy. Okay! To a certain extent, I admitted to Chia Wen’s accusation. Siew Meyy will begin her work as a doctor in Hospital Besar Ipoh (now known as Hospital Permaisuri Bainun) on January 2010. The hospital is situated opposite to Anderson and all it takes is just an overhead bridge to connect both landmarks where the distance is not even 100 metres. Memandangkan Siew Meyy akan mula bertugas di hospital tersebut yang begitu dekat dengan Anderson, I see no reason why I should let go of a golden opportunity to stick with her..hehe..If she is working morning shift, then we can go to work together and also for lunch. Walau bagaimanapun, segala perancangan nampak macam gempak tapi gua masih juga perlu menunggu kata putus daripada pihak universiti dan tiga sekolah berkenaan untuk praktikum gua.
On next Wednesday, Siew Meyy will be leaving Malaysia for Africa to attend a humanitarian mission trip under MSF with a contingent of about 30 individuals such as doctors, nurses and surgeons. She will be back home in Malaysia before Christmas. I wonder what is she going to do there kerana dia belum lagi merupakan doktor bertauliah. Mungkin pergi sana jadi kuli aje. She will be there for six weeks and that means for six weeks we are not going to see each other and the chances of communicating are slim too due to lack of infrastructure there. She promised to us that she will try her very best to look for Internet connection to send emails reporting her whereabouts and current condition there on every Saturday. This girl is adventurous and always be the first one to volunteer herself for community and charity works. The best part is that there is no objection from her parents and they encouraged her to go! I really respect Siew Meyy’s parents because they are very confident and always believe she knows how to take care of herself regardless of where she is and what she is doing. They never dispute her decisions despite the daughter is going far away for noble causes with unknown people and instead they supported her wholeheartedly as long as she promised to take good care of herself and keep in contact with them.

INTRODUCTION
E.U. is the third instalment of the highly-acclaimed Academy Trilogy (the first was The Academy in 2005 and followed by On The First Beat two years later). Currently, E.U. is the second highest rating at TVB for the year 2009 (behind Rosy Business which also starred Ron Ng). The character of Laughing Gor is now a cult figure due to the excellent portrayal by Michael Tse. Michael Miu (appeared in “The Academy” as Lee Man Shing) was reintroduced by the producer again albeit in a different role; a triad leader by the name of Kong Sai Hao. E.U. is undoubtedly the best series in the trilogy as it no longer focused mainly on the main characters’ foray as police officers but also gives the viewers an insight look on the triad led by Hao.
.
.
STORYLINE Continuing from where “On The First Beat” left off, EU chronicles the ups and downs of its two main stars; Chung Lap Man and Lee Pak Kiu, as police officers. It has been one year since the last events in “On The First Beat”. Both of them are no longer in the PTU team. Kiu is in EU (Emergency Unit) team while Man is drafted to the Vice department. Man is living a carefree life after breaking up with Cheung Nim Yan. It is Man’s ambition to solve big cases and his target is the Chun Hing Society led by the notorious To Yik Tin. On the other hand, Kiu is on his way for promotion due to his outstanding performance.
.
Tin’s long-time friend, Kong Sai Hao, has just completed a 10-years prison sentence in Taiwan for the offence of carrying drugs. It was actually Tin played out Hao. Tin promised that he will compensate for his wrongdoings when Hao is released. While in jail, Hao graduated with high academic qualifications especially in business. Tin appointed Hao into one of the powerful positions in Chun Hing. Tin is a very careful and suspicious man. He trusted no one but only his wife, Ching Yeuk Sum, who does not interfere in her husband’s society affairs but has a high status in Chun Hing. She is intelligent but never shown it to others as she does not want to overwhelm Tin.
For Tin, Hao must be fed with positions and money so that he will not have an additional enemy. The appointment did not go down very well with other prominent leaders in the society. Among them is Laughing Gor. He often harrassed Hao but Hao is a tough nut to crack. Hao, without anyone’s knowledge, is plotting a revenge on Tin. Hao wants to take over Chun Hing from Tin as retribution.
.
At the same time, Hao wished to reconcile with his estranged daughter, Yao. They were separated when carrying drugs for Tin. Because of that, Yao hates Hao. Yao is rebellious but independent in earning pocket money. by selling pirated and pornographic DVDs besides doing other petty illegal trades. Yao’s hobby is writing blog depicting herself as a princess going travelling around the world. Her blog was a big hit and followed by people around the world for her believeable stories on travelling. She and Man always had cat-and-dog fights over small matters. Over the time, they became friends. Man even helped Yao to pretend as the real Prince and Princess in the blog when her identity was exposed by Man’s colleagues.
Kiu and Man were shocked to see Hao resembled Kiu’s father, Lee Man Shing. But, they were well aware that there is no way Shing is still alive or has a twin brother. Kiu vowed to arrest Hao if the latter commits a crime. Man tried to be close with Hao as the easiest passage to infiltrate into Chun Hing. Hao used the impatient Man as part of his plan to get rid of Tin. Kiu consistently objected Man’s unconventional methods. Kiu maintains that Man should play by the book if he indeed wants to put the drug dealers away. Nonetheless, Man continued to be Hao’s unlikely partner in nabbing Tin.
.
When Tin was caught by the police in a raid on his drug factory, Hao wasted no time to gain Sum’s trust. Along with Tin’s driver, Chung, both of them were actually sharing the same cell while in jail. It was Hao’s plan to plant Chung besides Tin. Laughing Gor sensed it was his greatest opportunity to climb up the ladder in the society but Sum paid no attention to him. He was disappointed when Sum entrusted Hao to oversee Chun Hing’s operation. During an attempt to free Tin from police custody, Hao directed Chung to kill Tin.
Chung’s job was made easier when a rookie police, Fa Yeuk Bo, came into Tin’s way. Tin tried to shoot Bo but instead was shot dead by Kiu. Sum was devastated upon hearing Tin’s death. Tin’s death did not really pave a smooth way for Hao to sit on the Chun Hing’s throne. The society’s elders had other candidates to fill in the vacuum. Laughing Gor found out that Tin’s death was of Hao’s doings. Hao neutralized Laughing Gor and they became one geng. Sum, at first, rightly suspected Hao as the man behind her husband’s death but her doubts was put to rest by Hao’s tactics of getting her trust. Sum recommended to the elders that Hao should be appointed as the new man helming Chun Hing. With that, Hao is the new chief of Chun Hing.
.
Hao is laying a new plan to revolutionize Chun Hing into a more systematic and hassle-free triad organization. Armed with knowledge in business, he has a big dream to make Chun Hing as a force to be reckoned with in the underworld society. Hao secretly ordered Chung to open a much bigger drug factory. This underlined his highly ambitious plan. Business aside, Hao tried to seek forgiveness from Yao, whom at first, was not interested to have anything to do with Hao. But Sum was the mediator for both father and daughter to reconcile. Soon, Hao found that he loves Sum for her caring personality.
Man felt cheated by Hao over the death of Tin. He confronted Hao for explanation but only to be set up by Hao. The police force found out that Man’s car was used to carry drugs and he was hauled up to the disciplinary board. Wu Cheuk Yan (the snobbish chief inspector in the prequel), learnt of Man’s predicament. He offered a lifeline to Man by asking him to admit to the charges pressed upon him. Yan plans to make Man as an undercover in Chun Hing. Man agreed to Yan’s suggestion and his friendship with Kiu was temporarily halted. Kiu and Man’s other colleagues were disappointed to see Man mixing with the wrong parties. Man, with no choice, disowned his once best friends as he has a mission to accomplish.
.
Kiu promised to himself not to give up on his best friend but will follow by the book if Man commits a crime. Kiu continues his daily routine and was promoted as probationery inspector during the time where Man is slowly climbing up the ranks in Chun Hing. Kiu befriended with Bo since the day Tin was shot dead. Bo is the younger half-sister of Sum but the secret was kept by their mother, Oi. Bo fell in love with Kiu, the same as Yao to Man too. Sum is still angry over Oi for disowning her when she was a teenager. Hao brought them back in good terms. This joy, however, was shortlived when Bo knew Oi was so close with Sum. For Bo, Sum is the wife of a triad leader and definitely not a good woman. As time passed by, the relationship between this two sisters improved although Bo is not fond of Sum’s links with Chun Hing and Hao. Sum began to have feelings for Hao too.
Kiu is now under Yan’s unit which focused on serious crimes including Chun Hing. Man, on the other hand, is beginning to get the trust of Laughing Gor and Hao. From time to time, Kiu and Man crossed paths over criminal activities. But, Man triumphed due to Yan’s interference to ensure Man’s safety and mission.s Man knew that Kiu’s persistence towards Chun Hing will one day jeopardizes his spying mission thus complained to Yan. Kiu knew something was fishy when Yan asked him not to stick his nose into Chun Hing’s case anymore. Later he found out that Man was actually working as a spy for Yan. Kiu was happy that his best friend is not turning from white to black over the years. But Man neither admit nor deny it when was confronted by Kiu on that matter. He merely asked Kiu not to harrass him in the triad society.
.
Bo and Kiu finally dated each other but the same cannot be said for Man and Yao. Man does not want his mission to be compromised by Yao although they have feelings for each other. Yao was dejected but still put up effort to get Man’s attention. The love between Bo and Kiu blossomed. Hao is still skeptical over Man as he believes Man could be the spy. There were times where Hao tested Man’s loyalty but Man passed all the tests. Hao slowly trusted Man but still suspicious. Seeing Man on the rise, Laughing Gor felt threatened and decided to get rid of Man. He was actually doing that to protect Man because he knew Hao can never trust anyone especially Man who was once a policeman. Through an incident, Laughing Gor knew Man’s true identity. Man was confused with Laughing Gor’s action which seemingly tried to boot him out of Chun Hing either for his (Man’s) safety or own (Laughing Gor’s) interest. He thinks Laughing Gor could be a spy and slowly warming up to him. Laughing Gor did not admit to Man’s allegations but only warned Man to becareful in Chun Hing.
After a series of harrassment and raids on his drug factory, Hao believes there are spies in Chun Hing. He suspected Laughing Gor and Man. Laughing Gor’s overzealousness in protecting Man and blurry background before joining Chun Hing made him the prime suspect. Sum discovered Laughing Gor’s actual identity. He was indeed a police undercover in Chun Hing for the past nine years. Sum found this out when she visited Laughing Gor’s deceased girlfriend’s tomb. The girl, Wendy, was a policewoman and Laughing Gor’s classmate in the police academy. She died after married to a man in Finland. Laughing Gor was very sad and blamed himself for all those that happened. He never forgives himself for causing the death of his loved one. He always visited Wendy’s tomb seeking for guidance on all of his actions in Chun Hing besides mourning his loss. Sum reported this discovery to Hao.

On the wedding day of Bo and Kiu, Hao ordered Laughing Gor and Man to go for a drug transaction. Hao already asked Chung to kill Laughing Gor. Hao told Man that Laughing Gor is the spy for police and must be wiped off for the sake of Chun Hing. Man was shocked that his assumption of Laughing Gor as an undercover spy was indeed true. Laughing Gor knew his identity was uncovered by Hao. He asked Man to stage a fake fist fight between them as Chung was looking at one corner waiting to shoot Laughing Gor. Kiu, who happened to be around the area for his wedding, saw Chung was tailing Man and Laughing Gor. Kiu knocked off Chung and shoot Laughing Gor after seeing him tried to open fire on Man. Man escaped with Laughing Gor from Kiu. Laughing Gor begged Man to complete his unfinished mission and was happy that he gets to know Man as friend.
Laughing Gor requested Man to finish him off with a gunshot so that Hao will trust Man, a request that was reluctantly granted by Man. Man sent Laughing Gor’s body for Hao to see as confirmation that he completed the task of killing Laughing Gor. The police force especially Laughing Gor’s superior conceded the fact that he has died while on duty. Yan did not to reveal Laughing Gor’s real identity as it brings no benefits and might make Kiu feeling guilty for killing his own colleague.
.
All of Laughing Gor’s tasks since entering Chun Hing were compiled in a collection of diaries in his house for Man’s references. Man went to Laughing Gor’s house and discovered all the diaries chronicling the latter’s journey from a scoundrel to one of the bosses in Chun Hing. He vowed to complete what Laughing Gor could not achieve and put an end to Hao’s evil deed. Sum felt bad for causing the death of Laughing Gor but Hao justified it by saying betrayers can only have one ending which is death. Man was appointed by Hao to take over the former’s position. When Kiu learnt that he killed his own colleague, he felt miserable and almost quitted the police force. Yan advised him not to let the incident to haunt him as what happened was something that nobody expected. Kiu regained the confidence and determined to redeem his mistakes by bringing Hao to the book. He wanted to collaborate with Man but the latter refused to do so.
.
Hao is adamant to be with Sum and wanted to marry her. He promised to Chung that whatever happened to him and Sum will not have the adverse-effect on their drug dealings. Sum and Yao accidentally found out that Man is a spy too. Yao coaxed Man to let off her father but Man refused to do so. Both Sum and Yao tried their level best to protect Man’s identity from Hao. Yao was disappointed to see Man’s commitment to nail Hao. At the same time, she hoped that her father will not indulge in criminal activities anymore. Sum’s decision to marry Hao met with resistance from Bo, Kiu and Oi. Kiu himself was warned by his superior that conflict of interest might arise if that happens. Kiu did not put pressure on Bo and Sum, believing that Sum knows what is the best solution. Hao rubbished all the objections as he thinks his marriage with Sum is of nobody’s business.
Sum was shocked to discover that her restaurant was used by Hao as the drug factory. She wanted to inform the police but eventually did not do so as she loves Hao. But, Hao misunderstood that Sum betrayed him thus killed her. When he knew Sum’s true intention, he was dejected and asked for forgiveness from the dying Sum. The woman died from the gunshot wound but did not blame Hao. Hao is now paranoid and going all out to develop his drug factory and at the same time believes another spy is lurking around him. The spy is Man. He successfully proved it but decided not to kill Man for the sake of Yao. Man broke contact with Yan to ensure no one is disturbing him to nail down Hao. By doing that, Man was labeled as a turncoat by the police force. Man was not perturbed by it and so was Hao. Man knew as a spy, he has crossed the boundary and sooner or later the police force will also come after him. Hao took the risk of keeping Man as he is concerned of Yao. He was willing to let Man to run his drug business.
.
Man’s identity as an undercover was exposed to the gang members in Chun Hing and they are looking for him. With nothing more to lose, Man embarked on a last-ditch effort by pretending to be giving up on his police career and opted to be a gangster. He advised Hao to continue operate the drug factory at Sum’s restaurant after it was raided once by Kiu and Yan. The father and daughter relationship between Hao and Yao worsened. Yao cannot accept her father for becoming too cruel until killing his own lover and did not return Sum’s body to Oi. Man secretly provided intelligence to Kiu in their final attempt to put away Hao. Hao is suspicious that Yao betrayed him when actually it was Man. When everything turned awry for Hao in the drug factory, he knew Man was holding grudge on him over Laughing Gor’s death. Both men confronted each other with fist fights and gunshots. Man expressed to Hao that he never changed side and will never let Laughing Gor died in vain. Man was wounded by Hao’s gunshots and the latter escaped from the ensuing Kiu’s team. Yao asked Hao to come over with her. Hao was too paranoid of having closest confidante betraying him thus refusing Yao’s help. Hao was knocked down by a car driven by a teenagers high on drugs; the target market of his manufactured drugs.
.
Once the dust is settled, Man and Kiu patched up their differences over what happened since the appearance of Hao. Kiu asked Man not to give up on his police career and continue to carry on the quest of upholding justice. Man confessed to Kiu that he can never be as a good policeman as Kiu due to his attitude. Kiu said it was Shing’s advice that made them as best friends and overcome all the obstacles since becoming police officers.
Hao tried to commit suicide in jail but failed. He knew his time is up and will spend the rest of his life behind the bars. It was Yao comforted him not to take his own life again. Hao confessed to Yao that his only regret was not to believe that his daughter is sincerely wanted to save him at the critical moment. Hao revealed to Yao where he buried Sum’s body for proper burial by Oi and Bo.
.
Yao decided to go travelling around the world to forget the past. In her message to Man, she did not blame him for all the things happened but believed they can never be together again. She appreciated their time together. For her, she is always the Princess and Man is always the Prince in her blog. After reading the message, Man only hoped that Yao will one day forgive him.
.
Fast Forward…..
Man was back into the police force. He is in Kiu’s unit. They are now back together as a team……
.
SPECIAL ENDING A 30 seconds extra footage showing Laughing Gor donning his police uniform and insert his favourite 5 dollar coin into his pocket. In a voiceover, Laughing Gor said whether he is already dead or still alive, once a policeman, always a policeman. He continued that by putting on this (police) uniform and supported by so many colleagues, there is nothing for him to be afraid. His last words to the audiences are to remember his name = Laughing SIR (no longer Laughing GOR)
.
THE BEST SCENES
1. When Laughing Gor died in Episode 22
- It happened suddenly and nobody expected it. Audiences never thought that Laughing Gor is the undercover until one episode before his death. He was one of the big shots in Chun Hing and was the right-hand man of Hao. When Laughing Gor was shot by Kiu, audiences were surprised that the former met his ending that way. He was an icon.
.
2. When Man read Laughing Gor’s diaries
- It tells of Laughing Gor’s rise from a small-time crook into Hao’s most trusted ally. The diaries also showed events that were not seen in the drama until his death.
Among the notable events :-
a. He gained the trust of Tin when he was just a scoundrel
b. He “helped” Tin to embarass Hao in the big gathering of Chun Hing members
c. He exposed Tin’s whereabouts to his superior when the former was on the run from the police
d. He prepared to regain his identity and appear in the court as prosecution witness but was asked by his superior to continue become an undercover to take down Hao
e. He tried to gain Hao’s trust to safeguard his position
f. He knew his identity was uncovered by Sum and Hao
g. His methods of protecting Man
.
3. Laughing Gor at the Police Training School (PTS)
- He joined the PTS and was followed by his girlfriend, Wendy. Laughing Gor was an outstanding cadet in his batch, be it in IQ and EQ. His performance was monitored by a senior police officer, who later became his superior while on undercover. Laughing Gor is the most suitable candidate to be a spy due to his simple family background. By using a 5 dollar coin to determine his choice, Laughing Gor decided to go undercover. He got himself deliberately kicked out from PTS. While as a crook, he bumped into Wendy and they have arguments on the street. Laughing Gor sarcastically asked Wendy to find another guy. Wendy, in an angry tone, said she will do it and both of them will never get to see each other again.
.
4. The patching up moments between Man and Kiu in the last episode
-This scene took place in the PTS. Man acknowledged his own shortcomings and knew his attitude will land him in trouble. Kiu asked him not to give up on police career. Man told Kiu that his biggest achievement since entering the PTS was to have Kiu as best friend. The vow he made upon entering PTS was to become a good police officer along with Kiu but he felt he was nowhere near the standard. Kiu handed over Man’s Silver Whistle and said this whistle is the testimony of Man’s ability as a great policeman.
.
5. Laughing Gor’s additional 30 seconds appearance - His death sparked massive outcry and criticisms. His death generated the buzz all over the TVB audiences. His death was too popular until fans created a fanpage in Facebook dedicated to him also to mourn his death. So, TVB decided to add an extra scene which is by any means not related to the main plot. It showed Laughing Gor in the last 30 seconds of the drama donning the police uniform and reminded the audiences that he is Laughing SIR.
.
CASTINGS AND CHARACTERS
Ron Ng as Chung Lap Man
Sammul Chan as Lee Pak Kiu
- This year, besides EU, Ron also appeared in another drama; Rosy Business . Both dramas are ranked Top 10 in terms of ratings this year. On the other hand, Sammul also had two dramas (EU and A Bride For A Ride) plus one mini-series (ICAC Investigators 2009).
- In EU, the chemistry between the two main stars is simply fabulous. All thanks to their collaboration in The Academy and On The First Beat where they seems to have immersed themselves into the characters of Man and Kiu respectively . They also starred together in Triumph In The Skies (2003) and The Four (2008). The two young lads definitely improved their performances by leaps and bounds. They did quite well as best friends and temporarily as enemies in the drama.
- Ron’s performance as the undercover, however, seems to be a little bit awkward and not convincing enough. Whereas for Sammul, he gave his usual best as the police officer who goes by the book.
- Do check out for Ron’s relationship with Elanne Kong because they are so cute together and I must say they really looked compatible with each other. Sammul’s chemistry with Leung Ka Ki was quite terrible mostly due to the weak acting by Ka Ki who seems to be memorizing some of her lines throughout the drama.
.
Elanne Kong as Kong Yao Yao
Leung Ka Ki as Fa Yeuk Bo
- EU was the girls’ debut drama for TVB. Despite both of them have appeared in television dramas, movies and talk shows before, it was Elanne stole the thunder with great performance as the on-screen daughter and girlfriend to Ron and Michael Miu respectively. She portrayed the brash but at the same time romantic roles of Kong Yao Yao to perfection. She is only 22 years old therefore it is quite understandable that TVB gave her the role where she has to be naughty and rebellious as well. Her on-screen relationship is almost perfect and they do look cute together as couple in the drama although Ron is 8 years older than her. By the way, the ending themesong by Elanne is quite nice and definitely a must have for TVB viewers. If there is Part 4 for this Academy series, I hope TVB will include her again.
- Nothing much can be elaborated about Leung Ka Ki’s performance. Somehow, her acting and facial expression resembled Michelle Yip. Nevetherless, Ka Ki looked so nervous in delivering her lines and occasionally she seems to be frozen when sparring with Sammul Chan as partner. It was even worse when scenes involving her with veteran Jason Pai. I was shocked to see Jason’s dismal performance in his comeback at TVB because he seems to have lost his acting skills. When two of them appeared together, it did not help Ka Ki much and she gave an even terrible performance. Her chemistry with Sammul is almost zero but if there is Part 4 of the series, the chances for her to return among the main casts are quite bright as her character has married Sammul’s Kiu.
.
Michael Miu as Kong Sai Hao
Kathy Chow as Ching Yeuk Sum
Michael Tse as Leung Siu Tong (Laughing Gor)
- This three are veterans in the television showbiz dramas and they indeed did not disappoint the viewers. Instead, all three of them gave sterling performances albeit in their very own unique ways.
- Michael Miu returned to the series but in a different role. In The Academy (2005), he was the father of Sammul’s Kiu. In On The First Beat (2007), he only has cameo appearance in flashback scenes as Sammul’s Kiu again because he was shot dead in the first part. The Academy registered respectable ratings during its original run but its sequel suffered drop in ratings. TVB producers to bring back Michael for EU as a way to boost up again the ratings. So, Michael was assigned to a new role; as a notorious underworld society leader that really tested the friendship of Kiu and Man. Overall, Michael gave an outstanding performance as the cool, intelligent but later turned paranoid role of Kong Sai Hao. While, his chemistry with Kathy Chow in the drama is good, it was his father and daughter relationship with Elanne Kong that really on par with Elanne’s chemistry with Ron.
- EU marked the return of Kathy back at TVB after an eleven years of absence. She played her character Ching Yeuk Sum convincingly. She has many strong and loud dialogues with the triad leaders and members where all of them are guys. Be it with Lam Lei or Michael Miu, Kathy did well as the love interests for both men in the drama.
- It was TVB’s intention to bring back Michael Miu to boost up the ratings but the opposite happened. The newcomer in this drama, Michael Tse was the one propelled EU as currently the No.2 highest rating drama of the year with flawless performance as Laughing Gor. The unexpected death of Laughing Gor brought more popularity for the drama and also Michael Tse. Laughing Gor is the first ever TV drama character whose death was mourned in a social networking site; Facebook and boasted of more than 100 000 supporters there. Michael Tse easily filled in the shoes of Laughing Gor and none of the viewers thought he was an undercover for the police force until Episode 21. With past experiences in the highly-acclaimed Young and Dangerous series where he also played the role of a triad leader, Michael Tse effortlessly gave out brilliant performance. As the viewers were not satisfied and disappointed the way Laughing Gor met his death, TVB added a 30 seconds extra footage at the very last scene of the final episode specially for Michael Tse to once again appear but this time as Laughing Sir. The Laughing Gor phenomenon was cashed in by TVB to make a movie chronicling his life.
Tamatlah peperiksaan akhir semester! Right now I am in Ipoh for 1 week of semester break. I sat for 7 papers in 5 days. All the papers were no easy meat. For the whole week, I slept at 3am and woke up at 7 to study and also to get ready for the morning papers. Glad that it is now over.
Bercakap pasal peperiksaan, I earned the reputation among my classmates to be the last one at the very last minute to enter the examination hall! I see no reason for me to arrive for the exam so early. So many students packing the concourse area and it is very noisy. From the 3rd until the 7th paper, I reached the lecture complex (Proton City) 10 minutes before the exams started. By the time I walked to the hall, I only have about 5 minutes left because I parked my car far away and all 2500 students were sitting for the Finals simultaneously. Mustahil dapat mencari tempat letak kereta yang dekat dengan kompleks kuliah. Some of the invigilators tak syok dengan gua kerana tak datang awal. One of them was really rude to me when asking why I came so late. I was agitated by his attitude and goreng him back by saying it is not even time yet to start the exam jadi apa dia kisah. Fuyohh! He was left speechless and my classmates smiled because they know I will not keep quiet if people are stepping on my head. This is the REAL me. But I understand why the invigilators were so restless to see me come late. Because, I still have to fill in my particulars in the OMR paper and it usually takes about 6-8 minutes to complete it. Tapi gua peduli apa? Suka hati gua lar nak datang pada minit-minit terakhir.
The security guards at the Proton City are my good friends. We always chat on a lot of topics whenever I have breaks in between 2 classes in this semester. One of them always manned the West Wing of the complex and that was the place I used to enter during the examination week. He saw me came almost right on the dot and asked whether it is late. I politely answered him that “Masih ada masa lagi. Biar lambat sampai, janji selamat tiba”. We laughed as we walked together to the concourse area.
Into the examination, I cannot say how I will fare for this semester because the questions for most of the 7 papers were very difficult and we had torrid time cracking our heads to think of the answers. Gua rasa gua kini berada pada keadaan genting untuk sekurang-kurangnya dua kertas ujian kerana ia amat sukar dan betul-betul mencabar kesabaran. Takde gred A pun takpe. Janji lulus pun gua dah gembira. Yang penting ialah melepasi halangan baru memikirkan kegemilangan. Last time at UTAR, I brought all the notes prior to the exam before I entered the hall. But at UPSI, there is no such thing for me. Gua langsung tak kisah dan tak teringin untuk membawa bersama nota-nota kuliah. I only brought my examination slip, matric card, pens and pencils from my house to the examination hall. Jangan jadi bodoh bawa banyak-banyak nota kerana mustahil boleh belajar sampai masuk kepala otak tu lagi di luar dewan peperiksaan pada saat-saat terakhir. Most of the students also did the same.
Semester 2 starts on 2nd November and I am not looking forward to it yet. I am more concerned over my practicum which is due to start on 1st March 2010. Sedikit risau kerana bilangan tempat ditawarkan di setiap sekolah begitu terhad dan gua bersama rakan-rakan dalam program yang sama terpaksa berebut dengan budak ISMP lagi. I really hope I can do my practicum in Ipoh and the most preferred choice of school is none other than my alma mater = Anderson School. Second choice would be St Michael and followed by Sam Tet (a lot of pretty girls from AMC studying there for Form 6..hehe). Now I am working on my application to get the school that I wanted. Not only me but all of us in the programme are busy to get the job done as soon as possible. Pada Isnin depan, gua akan pergi ke Anderson untuk merisik kalau-kalau ada chance untuk gua sambar terlebih dahulu. I missed all the teachers there especially Puan Lau (Kanchana said Fong Yew and I made Puan Lau cried last time in Form 6..hehe) because she is very committed and good to me. The scariest part was that she knew my father long time (in the mid-90s) before she became my Pengajian Am teacher in 2004. Hopefully all of my favourite teachers still remember me! Akulah budak jahat yang paling pandai berpura-pura baik di depan cikgu! Apatah lagi gua ni seorang pengawas sekolah! Haha
My housemate (Mei Yi) from Bidor followed me back by car after the last paper today. I fetched her back because the bus tickets to Bidor were sold out. Afterall, to go back Ipoh, I will pass by Bidor. We are good friends since the day we met each other for orientation at UPSI. In fact, she helped me to get the house that I am currently living in with her and three other girls. I respect her because she has an excellent academic achievement from SPM until Degree in UM. In fact, she quitted her job that pays her very well just to come to UPSI. Before we left the house, I cheekily told Rayne (another housemate of mine) that “Mei Yi memang berani ikut saya balik dengan kereta. She does not know that many girls went missing when they tumpang my kereta!”. Rayne laughed when she heard that and jokingly warned Mei Yi to be careful of me but Mei Yi brushed it off by saying “He is just a small boy! He can do nothing to me!” Wth! I am a small boy? Still a small boy arr? Rayne gave two nicknames to Mei Yi = Beautiful Fish and Little Girl because she is beautiful and can still behave like a small girl that can scream and shout in the house for no reason. Bidor is situated right in between Ipoh and Tanjung Malim. The distance between Ipoh and Tanjung Malim is 120km. That means Bidor is at the KM60 mark.
Currently I am following TVB 2009 Blockbuster Drama “Born Rich” crazily. This is Gallen Lo’s first blockbuster-status drama since Golden Faith in 2002. Born Rich could well be Gallen’s final drama at TVB. Therefore, I am more addicted to the drama. He is my all-time favourite TVB actor and is the undisputed TVB Drama King as 3-time Best Actor Award winner in TVB Anniversary Awards. Only 5 episodes were aired in Hong Kong and Malaysia. 36 more to go. There is another blockbuster drama “Beyond The Realm of Conscience” (where Tavia Yeung is in a breakthrough role as a villain that well-scripted for her to land to coveted Best Actress Award in the upcoming Anniversary Awards on December) but I am not interested to it at all although I might watch it next time. My attention is fully on “Born Rich”. I love all the episodes so far. The themesong of “Born Rich” is performed by Gallen Lo and I like it for its lyrics and melody. Having said that, I must say here that Gallen Lo is always my all-time favourite TVB actor and singer. Raymond Lam? Itu milik Siew Meyy punya. I like to see Raymond Lam too but Gallen is the top priority because of his excellent acting and singing skills. I dun have the luxury like what Siew Meyy has in Astro On Demand where she can watch directly “Born Rich” and “Beyond The Realm of Conscience” when both dramas are broadcasted simultaneously in Malaysia and Hong Kong. I can only download all the episodes two hours after it ended (around 12am or 1am) then only I can watch. Currently I am downloading “Born Rich” in the HD-DVD version because I want to keep it as my collection. Oh yeah! I will be doing the full review for this “Born Rich” in my blog and will release it 2 weeks after it ends in December.
Let’s have a look at the promotional posters for TVB 2009 Blockbuster Drama : Born Rich. This 41-episodes drama premieres on 19th Oct!
Gua kata tak nak balik Ipoh pada hujung minggu ini. But, I went against my own words and I am now in Ipoh..hehe..Everyone said I have no reason to go back coz I am blessed with four pretty girls as housemates. For me, ada perempuan ke tidak, itu bukan persoalannya. Since I started my studies in July 2009, I only stayed three times in Tanjung Malim during the weekends. Yang lain-lain hujung minggu tu, gua berada di Ipoh.
Exams start on Monday. Yang paling best, gua masih belum lagi study. Pengajian gua untuk semester ini tamat pada hari Khamis yang lalu. On last Monday until Wednesday, I only slept for 3 hours on every night. Gua bertungkus-lumus menyiapkan assignment kerana markahnya untuk kumpulan. Gua seorang mati takpe lar tapi tak boleh menganiayai rakan kumpulan yang lain..haha..I am happy that for the tri-events, out of 60 coursework marks, I netted 56! It is already a pass in the subject. Gua kena memuji diri gua sendiri di sini (suka sangat syok sendiri) kerana gua sememangnya pengerusi kumpulan yang sangat hebat sehinggakan semua ahli kumpulan turut mendapat markah yang tinggi sehingga 54. And for another subject, out of 40 coursework marks, I have 33 in the bag! Anyway, I have revised my targets in Tanjung Malim. I am not going for any honours. I just want to do my best and get the best result out of it before I officially end my stint there on May 2010 (by March 2010, I will no longer in Tanjung Malim due to practical). So far I am on the right track. Setting a high target is good but during earlier of this semester, I was under extreme pressure to deliver the goods until I almost “lose control” of myself. Although I can still hold on to the original target with high coursework marks, I only want decent results.
Thanks to my housemates for sharing the examination tips with me. At least, I know which topic to focus without “digesting” the whole books for seven subjects. They are very generous in sharing the tips. It is great to have them as housemates coz they always share delicious foods with me too. Since I have not started my revision yet, I decided to utilise fully the tips given. There is no time anymore to do full revision. Ada apa saja di tangan, kita rembat aje.
On Friday night, I went out with Fong Yew for dinner in Falim and also movie in Jusco. This Dewa Makan brought me to eat Japanese food at Kintoki Restaurant. The price for the food there is reasonable and service is good. One thing for sure when tagging along him for makan = Dapat makan best-best yang berpatutan nilai wang yang dibayar tu. Almost all the best foods in Ipoh are finding difficulties to “escape” from our Dewa Makan. After that, we watched the movie Tsunami at Haeundae. The movie was great with excellent CGI and the human emotions were flawlessly displayed to the point that I shared the sorrows with them.
Gua pun ada keluar with Siew Meyy in Ipoh. We did not have much programme together coz she knows my exams are around the corner. We just went for makan and watching movie only. Siew Meyy always have no problem of pushing her beauty to another higher level everytime I see her. But this Miss Chin is putting some weight too coz dia macam dah berisi sikit. As we were in Jusco for movie, I met alot of my former schoolmates and juniors as everyone is coming back for Deepavali. They all kept praising Siew Meyy as a beautiful girl. I am waiting for my exam to end on next Friday coz on Saturday, we will be going to KL to lepak. I want to introduce her to Debbie coz dah tiba masa tunjukkan Siew Meyy kepada kawan gua yang paling rapat di UTAR itu. I always introduced all the girls that I respect the most to Debbie. The first was Khai Wan during a PR campaign on November 2007. Sudah lama gua tak pergi KL. Gua pun tak lar desperate sangat nak pi KL. There is nothing there also. No lengluis (KL punya perempuan tak cantik. Cuma banyak tu syok sendiri saja), no delicious foods to eat (Ipoh is the food paradise), traffic jams (KL people spent more time stuck like idiots on the road than resting in the house! sohai-isme) and many many more where KL “scored beautifully” in those negative aspects. Miss Chin has already setting her sights for humanitarian mission in Africa next month. Memang mulia dan baik hati perempuan ini. Her kindness and nobility are something that no girls can ever rival, let alone to surpass it!
Let’s whet the appetite with this teaser trailer from Astro On Demand for TVB 2009 Blockbuster Drama which is scheduled to premiere on 19th October. Running at 41 episodes length, it is almost certain to be Gallen Lo’s final ever drama at TVB. I really can’t wait for this drama to start its airing next Monday!
I will only mention Siew Meyy in this short paragraph because I got bored of her already..hehe..She is having a carefree life currently while waiting for January 2010 to start her stint as a doctor in Hospital Permaisuri Bainun (Ipoh GH). On the Mooncake Festival, she was busy in KL because she has to attend functions with her father to meet all the business associates. She is sitting in her father’s company directorial board as a non-executive director.
For the second consecutive weekend after the Hari Raya holidays, I went back to Ipoh. But I drove back home instead of boarding the KTM train as the tickets were sold out. For the second time since the Hari Raya balik kampung, I drove back using the old roads. Apapun, yang pasti hujung minggu depan gua takkan balik Ipoh because my Finals start on 19th October. Langsung tiada study week. Habis saja Week 13, gua kena terus lompat ke dewan peperiksaan for the exam. Yang paling best ialah, gua masih belum study lagi..haha..How to study when I dun have the time? The assignments and presentations are still keep coming in despite the exam is just one week away.
“Double Whammy” because F1 Brazilian GP will be held early in the morning on the exam’s first day! Kalau tengok F1 maknanya pergi dewan peperiksaan tanpa persediaan rapi. Tapi kalau tak tengok F1 dan gunakan masa itu belajar, gua kemungkinan besar terlepas peluang melihat siapa di kalangan Button, Barrichello dan Vettel yang akan dinobatkan sebagai juara dunia. With my personality, I am set to watch the race thus compromising my studies..hehe
I have finished watching 40 episodes of TVB 2008 Moonlight Resonance. I watched the last 5 episodes last night until 3am. This drama is already on my review list but I am undecided on when is the best date to publish it in this blog because I still have not put up the full review of TVB 2009 EU yet despite having completed it.
On last Saturday, I went to Moven Peak for a gathering with Fong Yew, Pooi Mun and Kim Cheng. Dah lama tak jumpa Pooi Mun and Kim Cheng. It was great to see them again and exchanged news on each other’s latest updates in career and daily life.
Last Tuesday, gua kena saman by the Tanjung Malim District Council kerana tak pamerkan kupon letak kereta! Geram betul! Macam tu kena bayar RM20. My former schoolmate, Syukri, saw my car kena saman when he was having breakfast with his fiancée but tak beritahu gua yang berada few shoplots away from him. Dia pun kena saman! Hehe..By the way, we are in Tanjung Malim untuk belajar.
I have collected my examination slip. The timetable is quite tight as I have to sit for 7 papers in 5 days from 19th until 23rd October. I dare not to say how I will fare in the exam because everything seems to be unpredictable when it comes to assignments and presentation as the marks are not available yet. In other words, all the subjects are very difficult and it is about touch-n-go as the borderline for success and failure are very close to each other.
TVB is going to air two of its most anticipated dramas this year; Beyond The Realm of Conscience and Born Rich back-to-back from 8.30pm until 10.30pm in Hong Kong. It’s been years since TVB last put two blockbuster dramas in the same period when Anniversary Awards are up for grab in December. I will definitely watch both dramas and will get the HD version of it. Between the two, I am more interested on Born Rich because it paraded all the top actors and actresses of the 1990s especially Gallen Lo.
Last but not least, let’s have a look on my tiket saman! Haha…
